Ten Nights of Dreams
A wonderful collection of shorts, visually pleasing, fun to watch and from time to time refreshingly weird.
Fun, creative and quirky spin on the superhero genre. Even though Toyoshima is somewhat of a veteran director by now, the film still feels young and fresh. There's no lack of interesting ideas, the execution is on point and the actors are in on the joke. It lacks a little refinement, but otherwise it's a very amusing film.
A very pleasant and enjoyable comedy that goes for a blend of dry and quirky, without getting too absurd or outlandish. Some slight touches of drama add a little bit of depth, but it's clear that it doesn't aim to be too serious. It's a film without real highlights, yet amuses the entire time. Very fine filler indeed.
