I Care a Lot poster

Plot: Pike plays Marla, a woman running a nifty scheme that is ensuring her a decent pension. She seizes control over the lives and assets of the elderly by becoming their legal guardian. One juicy target turns out to be a lot more trouble than anticipated, as she isn't who her legal papers claim her to be.

A pretty pleasant crime comedy, with a strong central performance of Rosamund Pike. It's just a shame that the film isn't quite brave enough to serve a proper ending, messing up not once, but twice. It's not so bad that it ruins the film, but you'd be forgiven for thinking this was a remake of a recent Chinese film.

There is a fun streak of dark comedy that keeps the film interesting, and there's a rather cunning showdown between Pike and some shady underworld characters (Dinklage was clearly having a lot of fun too). The film deserved a better ending though, and the editing could've been a little tighter, but all in all, this was a pretty solid film.
