A hidden gem. It's a film I once ran into by accident, loved it when I watched it, but then never saw or heard anyone talk about it again. And yet, there's so much of interest here. Great performances, a mysterious setup, lovely cinematography, and an interesting choice of music turn this into an intriguing drama. There are a few pacing issues and the film isn't too generous with explanations, but if you can handle slow(er) cinema that shouldn't be a problem. If a mix of Japanese drama and arthouse sounds interesting to you, give this one a chance.
