This is an amazing return to the horror genre for Moreau. It's been a while since I've seen a good horror, and it's been at least two decades since I've watched a great zombie flick. But executing it as a single-take endevour tracking the original outbreak was a very smart choice. The performances are excellent, the camera work is smart and the sound design is stellar. This was an amazing thrill from start to finish, a mix of Cloverfield and Irréversible, but with zombies. If you're looking for something fun to watch during Halloween, you can't go wrong with this one.

The duo went on to make the unfortunate US adaptation of The Eye and each went their own separate way after that. A real shame because as a duo they showed great promise directing horror films.
