Run-of-the-mill elevated horror is a thing now. Horror as a way to portray past trauma has become a staple and many directors are having a go at it without adding anything of their own. Run Rabbit Run is a cliché-ridden film that felt like a simple cut-and-paste job of earlier work, with little genre excitement to fall back on. The trauma is very predictable, the horror elements are pretty bland and the pacing is too slow. The styling isn't strong or evocative enough, the drama feels quite forced and the film does little more than go through the motions. It's not a terrible watch, but it isn't very moving or exciting either. Just filler. Read all
