Akaike Ryoto

A vintage Japanese comedy. There are many pun-based jokes, the comedy is highly reliant on cultural gags and some of it is just weird for the sake of being weird. If you're a fan of Katsuhito Ishii's Funky Forest or the work of Akira Ikeda, this is a film for you. It's not the best of its kind, the execution is a tad rough, but there were more than enough laughs in it for me. Films like these are rare, especially nowadays, so I still had a lovely time with it. Fans of wonky Japanese comedies, rejoice!
