Plot: A being appears on our planet out of nowhere and takes on the form of a woman it sees on the cover of a magazine. It needs time to adjust, but a helpful man takes her in. Meanwhile, the original is pondering her life choices, as she is unhappy with the line of work she chose.

A lo-fi mystery that might be a tough nut to crack. It's not too hard to decipher what is going on, the film is quite clear about that from the start. The point of it all is less obvious though. I have no doubt there is more to the story than meets the eye, only I can't quite figure out what it is.
Carter puts in a strong performance and the mystery is interesting (not to mention it's kept relevant until the very end), the styling is a bit basic though and while the ending is pretty fun, it's also rather cheesy. Imitation Girl is not a bad film, it's just that the execution could've used a little extra polish.
