Somewhat better than expected. Most UK classics tend to be rather stuffy and uptight, Darling is a film that reminded me more of the French Nouvelle Vague. Not quite as frivolous or playful, but it didn't feel as rigid and dusty as many of its peers. It's a shame the film is a bit too long.

Christie's performance is decent and her headstrong character adds some needed flair to the film. The first half is fun, the second half becomes a bit repetitive though, with Diana clinging to various men in order to get where she wants to be. Not quite as good as its French counterparts, but not as bad as I thought it would be.
