A dreamy road movie, mixing an arthouse aesthetic with slightly surreal touches. The black-and-white cinematography is absolutely sumptuous, and not just a cheap excuse to cover up a limited budget. The performances are strong, the characters intriguing and the plot mysterious. A young woman encounters a unique lobster and vows to free it from its small enclosure, returning it to its natural habitat. Along the way she meets up with a variety of people, each with their own wisdom to give. This allows her to make amends with a traumatic past. If you like dreamy, slow, and mysterious, yet deliberately stylized movies, this is an easy recommendation.
